About the Role
MentoraHQ is looking for a QA Lead to establish and strengthen quality assurance practices across its web applications and platform workflows. You will own the testing strategy, improve test automation, identify release risks, and work closely with engineering and product teams to ensure reliable customer experiences.
This role is suited to someone who can combine hands-on testing with quality leadership and practical risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the QA strategy, test plans, and release quality criteria.
- Lead functional, regression, integration, API, and exploratory testing.
- Design and maintain automated test suites for critical product workflows.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
- Establish risk-based testing practices for high-impact functionality.
- Validate authentication, permissions, form validation, and important business rules.
- Test browser compatibility, responsive layouts, accessibility, and usability.
- Coordinate pre-release verification and communicate release risks.
- Monitor escaped defects and recurring failures to improve testing effectiveness.
- Improve test data management and maintain clear QA documentation.
Qualifications
- Significant professional experience in software QA, including ownership of testing strategy or team leadership.
- Strong knowledge of manual testing, test design, and defect lifecycle management.
- Practical experience with UI and API automation frameworks.
- Familiarity with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.
- Experience testing REST APIs, databases, and complex business workflows.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, version control, and release management.
- Ability to assess risk and prioritize testing based on customer impact.
- Strong analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
